Typography Project

In my opinion the strongest part of my finished art piece is the bottom half of the picture. The shorts look best to me because of the different coloring. The area of my art piece that needs improvement is the face, i did not work too diligently on it and it looks messy. To improve it i could have used more coloring/ shading and made it look less choppy.The tools that were used to create this were the tools in illustrator. For example the pen tool, the type tool and the direct selection tool. I used these tools to out line the areas that needed to be typed, select the areas and to type within the areas.The easiest thing about this activity was the typing, you just had to copy and paste. The most difficult about this project was the repetitiveness, i kind of got bored and tired of it quickly. I demonstrated the goals of this project by using typography, demonstrating different font sizes and using different colors. If i could do this project again i would choose a different picture because this picture made it hard for me to be interested in the project. I would have done better with a simpler picture. on a scale of 1 to 10 i would rate my effort on this project a 6 because i wasn't as interested as i would've liked to have been.

In my opinion, the strongest visual area of my finished art piece is the definition of my nose,It is easy to point it out and has an allusion of height. However the visual area of my art piece that may be improved is the shirt area where there is only one other shade and shape on it. In order to create this the tools i used were in illustrator and Photoshop, for example in illustrator i used the pen tool, direct selection, eye dropper and curvature tool. In photo shop i only used a limited amount of tools like, the crop tool, adjusting brightness and hue. I used the pen tool to outline the picture and to create the shapes in the picture, the eye dropped to select the shape color and the direct selection to select individual shapes. i just used the tools in photo shop to adjust and change the color. The easy thing about this was the filling in of color with the eyedropper. The difficult part was making sure all the triangles were individual so they could all be different colors. i demonstrated the goals of this assignment by completing it with polygons, showing different levels and having color.If i could do this again i would change up the colors and make it brighter. Ona scale of 1-10 i would rate my effort at 10 because i really liked this project and i enjoyed putting it together.

Cartoon Project

In my opinion, the strongest part of my finished art piece is the jacket because of how dodge and burn tool made it look very cartoon-ish and almost real. However, the visual area that may be improved on is the face because of its choppiness. The outline of the face does not match the skin tone and the outline isn't well rounded, the pen tool was not used correctly in this area. The tools used to create this piece of work were the pen tool, the paintbrush tool,color picker, dodge tool and burn tool. The easiest thing about this art activity was filling in the picture in with color. But the hardest thing about this art activity was using the pen tool in illustrator because it was so new to me and i couldn't quite get the hang of it easily.During the art activity i demonstrated the goals of such by making the picture look somewhat realistic and using the pen tool from illustrator.If i were to do this project over again, i would have changed the color of my outlines and made sure the colors inside the out line and the outline matched. I also would have made the face look a little more realistic and put together. Lastly, on a scale of 1-10 i would rate my effort in this project a 9 because i tried more than i usually would since i had used a different tool i had never used (pen tool).     

Polaroid.

          In my opinion, the strongest part of my finished art piece is the  coloring of the Polaroids. I think its aesthetically pleasing.
          The part that can be improved on is the cutting of the mixed media, there couldve been a cleaner cut.
          The tools I used where some of the basics, selecting tool, 3D tool, move tool, quick selection and etc.
          I used the tools by moving the Polaroids around, changing the color, making the font 3D and coloring in the lips.
          The difficult thing about this was incorporating the mixed media because it wasn't something that you could get from the internet, but you had to do it yourself.
          I achieved the goals of this project because i used mixed media, 6+ Polaroids, used a self image and used typography.
          If i was to do this again, I would make a collage of different photos together.
          On a scale of 1 to 10 I would give myself a 8 because it is pleasing to the eye, meets requirements but could use some improvement.
